LIFE

Anything and everything that happens under the sun...

Moving to an Apartment

My friend has just moved to an apartment. She has gone through a lot these past couple of months and moving to a new place is like a new beginning for her. She has always been the kind of person who is organized and even when she moved to her apartment, she made sure that everything is in order.

She got some moving boxes from upack. She said it's affordable to order it from their site and they even offer affordable moving service whether it be long distance or just moving to a neighboring city. She was very organized that looking at her move looked like it is easy to do.

Now she is enjoying her new place and new life that goes with it. I am just glad that everything worked-out for her and that she is looking at life at a positive tone still, after what happened.

Keeping Alert

My husband will turn Forty this year. He is worried because he said he is getting older. He is worrying too much but I also admit that he needs to lose some weight to keep himself healthy. We started going to the gym and watching what we eat. As a support for him too, I make sure that I don't eat as much fatty foods as before like ice creams and cookies. I understand that it's harder for him to try to lose weight if I am in his face eating ice cream, while he's eating celery.

Another thing he did to help him out is by drinking vitamins for memory. He noticed that he has been forgetting more and more stuff. There was a time he forgot to bring his wallet to work, and as a result he was late because he can't get in without his identification card. A couple of days after that, he forgot to bring his cellular phone and I have to bring it to work for him.

Ever since he drink the vitamins though, we noticed an improvement in his memory as well as everything about him. We are taking this a little bit at a time but we know that someday, he would reach his goal weight and he would be healthier than he has been when he was Thirty.

Checking Your Credit Score for Free

Ever since I got married and got here in the US, I have been trying to build a good credit score. I learned that having a good credit score is very important here. Back where I am from, there is no such thing as credit score, so I have no idea how all of these work. My husband has good credit and he is trying to keep it that way. Almost everything we do involves credit reports and I am seeing how important it is to have good credit.

Recently, I got to see my free credit report online. It is absolutely free and it gave me an idea on where I stand in my credit. I have two credit cards to help me build my credit and so far, it worked out well for me. I knew the companies that ran my credit and the companies that reported stuff to the credit bureau.

If you wanna check out your credit score, there are sites online that let's you view it for free. There is even a law that gives you the right to view your credit report for free once a year. Find out ways to keep informed about where you stand because without good credit score, it is very hard to make it here in this country.

Getting the Latest News About Web Hosting

Ever since I learned how to blog, I have been very adamant in learning more about ways to improve my blogs. My blogger friends have been helpful in teaching me ways to improve traffic and ways to earn money through my posts. It helped me in a lot of ways and it also made meeting a lot of people possible. Blogging has brought nothing but positive things into my life.

I have been following all the latest in the hosting industry through a website that offers the web hosting news. It gives out the best information possible about the trends in the web hosting world, and also offers reviews about the different web hosting sites. I also follow the latest in the blogging world by following all kinds of informative blogs.

It is very important to be well-informed in everything. Getting involved in the latest trends and news, no matter if it be blogging or current events in the economy, is a way of caring.

Reading Materials for Kids

Now that it's summer time, my daughter is very excited with the thought that she don't need to do any homework or any kinds of school work. But I know that I should not just let be an all fun summer because she needs to remember her lessons and not forget about them.

I found all kinds of educational games online and educational magazines that hopefully would help her remember her lessons all summer long without boring her too much. I do understand that summer time is fun time for her and I don't want to take it away from her. I just want her to keep her focus in school and not forget her lessons.

Anyway, for right now, I am just glad that she's having fun and enjoying the start of her summer vacation.

Teaching my Daughter How to Read

My daughter will be in third grade soon. She has always performed real well in the past years of school that I know she would do well. If anything, I could encourage her to learn more by improving her reading skills and math skills. There's always room for improvement no matter how smart our kids are. So this summer, I have to put a day on the side to enhance her reading.

As I looked for ways in helping hone her reading skill online, I found out about a new trick that was developed by dr marilyn jager adams. It's a way of improving reading skills of students in all grade levels. At first glance, I know that it's unlike the usual reading tutorial that are online. It's the real deal. I am so convinced that I am even letting my sister-in-law know about their products to help out her daughter who is in kindergarten.

As they say, we parents are given the task in making sure that our kids grow-up to be well-rounded individuals. Anyway, we could, we should make sure that we support them in everything they do.

My Mother's Day Present

It's my 8th mother's day and every year, my husband never fails to give me something as a token of appreciation for staying at home and taking care of our kids. Being a mom is the greatest thing ever! It is very hard, very time-consuming, very draining yet at the same time very fulfilling and very rewarding! I always believed I am born to be a mom and there's nothing I could do better that be a mother to my kids.

Last year, I was fulfilled again because I became a mom the second time around. Now that I have two kids, it's twice the craziness and work but it's also twice the fun and fulfilment. Mother's day is every 2nd Sunday of May. This year, to celebrate mother's day, the entire family went to Pensacola, FL. to go camping. We all had fun and it's as much fun to me as it was for the kids and of course my husband.  We go to the beach during the day and grilled some hamburgers and s'mores at night. My husband then gave me a very wonderful mother's day present. He gave me my favorite SKK cookware. It is a very attractive cooking pan that is non-stick. I cooked our breakfast on it the next day and we all had fun talking about the activities that we did the day before.

I could never ask for anything more. I am blessed with a beautiful family. My kids are awesome and sweet and I have the sweetest husband in the whole world! Nothing beats being a wife and a mother if you're surrounded by a family that loves you back and appreciates your efforts to take care of them and love them.

Investing our Money

My family only has one income source since I don't work. We still practice traditional ways and part of that is that the husband should go work and the wife should stay at home and take care of the kids. I am not against working women, I admire them and I am not against families that has both parents working, to each his own.

It is not easy to budget just one income source. Although we manage, it's not that easy. Recently though, our friend talked us to try online trading. He said that it would add not just a little but a lot to our income if we just find the best online broker to help us out. My husband then did a lot of research and started to get all kinds of informations online. He learned about stock trading and different ways to earn money through the stock market. It is a very good income source and investment as well.

Now we're starting to invest a little bit at different stocks. We're starting slow but we know that once we get the hang of it, we will slowly put a little bit more money into it and ofcourse gain a lot back.

Buying Grade 70 Chains

My brother-in-law owns a construction business and there are times when he would ask me to help him look for stuff online and compare prices for him. There was a time that he asked me to compare the prices of Grade 70 Chains online and I found a particular site that delivers them right away at a cheap price. He also asked me one time to get some kind of  trailer tie downs  for his trailers. It is so funny because some of the terms he uses in his construction business like the  turnbuckle is not that familiar to me, but when I look at them online, I would be like, ahh, that's what it's called.

Anyway if you need my help in looking and comparing some products, I would be more than happy to help out.

A Trip to the Zoo

One of our family activities this spring was a visit to the zoo. It is Fifi's first time to see animals and she was very excited! She would shriek whenever she see the animals move around and make some noise. Andrea on the other hand, loved to show her sister the different animals. She was our tour-guide. She talks about them and reads the information about the animals for us. The visit to the zoo was fun and we would definitely do it again.

Car Connection Ratings

If you're thinking of getting a car, it is very important that you do major research about it before spending your money. A car is considered a major purchase, so making sure that you get the best deal for your money is imperative. There's a site online that gives you all kinds of informations about vehicles in the market. They give reviews about certain models and even prices for it. It is the go to site when you're planning on getting a vehicle.

When I got pregnant, hubby and I decided to buy a new family car to fit all of us. We didn't settle for any car until we did our research. Review sites helped us alot in our decision and until now, after almost 2 years, we were glad we did our research first. The car connection offers all kinds of inforamtions from vehicle prices like porsche panamera price, mitsubishi evolution price and Fisker Karma price. They also have inforamtions in all kinds of vehicles and one example is their info about the Ford Fiesta.

There are all kinds of vehicles in the market today. They all have their pros and cons and the only way to find out about it is through extensive research. Find out about the specific model you like and then weigh the pros and the cons. The decision you make will make or break your wallet.

A Present for my Godchild

There's another baby in the family! Another addition to our already big family of 7 kids. I am also grateful to my SIL for asking me to be the godmother of baby Nick. When I learned about it, I was so excited, I went looked for suitable presents I could give to my SIL's son. I though it would be wonderful to get a baby receiving blanket and have it embroidered with baby Nick's name.

Looking for baby receiving blankets is easy but choosing which one to get is not that easy. There are all kinds of cute stuff out there that I could not make up my mind! So instead of getting one, I got like 3 different kinds and colors and have them all embroidered. My sister-in-law loved it and baby Nick seems to not care... LOL...

A baby is always a blessing and we are blessed again to have another little person in our family.

Anchor Shackles

If you're moving or owns a moving company and is need of supplies like Anchor ShacklesTurnbuckles and Rigging Supplies, then I could tell you of a site that offers all kinds of moving supplies and straps for less. They also offer next day shipping and a good return policy.

Try visiting the site uscargocontrol.com and look at all the products they have. Check it out, maybe it's the site you're looking for.

Having to Replace our Windows

After hurricane Katrina, our house needs major repair and one of the things we need was get replacement windows. Our old windows were still intact but getting new, energy efficient ones seems like a logical thing to do. We didn't regret that decision because it lowered down our energy bill big time. Getting it done was easy too, we called the window replacement company, they came and measured our windows and came back with it a week later and installed it.

My sister-in-law saw how quick and easy it was to have window replacement so she had her windows replaced with  vinyl windows as well. She even encouraged her own in-laws to get their windows replaced to save money in the long run by having less energy bill. Now, five years later, our windows are still intact and our energy bills are still low.

It might be time to replace your windows for more energy efficient ones. With the economy we have now, it's always better to save whatever money we could.

A New Laptop For Me

My hubby loves to play computer games. He even built a gaming computer just so he could play all kinds of online games. I am not that much interested about games. I love to browse online and shop online, and I also love to write blogs, so I use our old laptop to do that. My older daughter loves to play free games online as well, so she has her own computer to use on weekends. We just make sure that she goes to trusted sites.

Hubby asked me what I want for Mother's Day and I told him I want a new laptop. My old laptop crashed on me several times and it's really time to get a new one. He showed me all kinds of laptop computers online and made me choose which one I like best. Of course, I chose the ones with girly colors! LOL. He said I should also consider the memory and the different components of the laptop. Well, he asked me, so I just picked the one that reflects my personality.

He said if he's going to buy a new laptop, it should be good. So he said he would choose the best laptop according to specifications and I will just buy a pretty laptop cover for it. That's not bad. I get a pretty laptop that has the best capabilities. I can't wait to get it!

A Beautiful Home

I have the oppotunity to visit my friend's house last weekend. It is a big cottage-type house that very chick and well-kept. She gave me a tour of the house and I just can't help but notice the sense of style in every room. Her living room is like a picture from one of the home furnishing magazine I love to read. The persian rugs and beautiful paintings adds a majestic touch to her homey couch and fireplace.

I hope I could decorate my house like that too but unfortunately, I can't. Not right now when I have a toddler who thinks everything is a toy. I have to stick to the basic stuff because I need as much running space for my toddler to play on. Seeing her enjoying herself is good enough for me. Someday though, I know I would be able to have the persian rugs and the expensive paintings. For now, my home is beautiful not because we have beautiful things but because we all have fun living in it.

All About Notepads

Today it is very much imperative for businesses to be able to advertise as much as they could or else there would be a hard time for them to succeed. If there are major events that's gonna happen, advertisement is the key to it's success. I know for a fact because I have a brother-in-law who owns a restaurant in New Orleans. At first he was having a hard time because he don't have as much customers. When he started to advertise, his business started to bloom.

High Quality Notepad Printing is very attractive and very professional than just regular paper printing. There are sites that offer Affordable Notepad Printing, and they sometimes offer lesser fees for bulk orders. My bother-in-law used a  High Quality Online Printing Company to do the marketing and advertisement of his restaurant.

The best thing to use in notepad ads are the ones with cardboard backing since it's a tougher than paper therefore, you could be assured that your advertisement would last longer for people to see.

I'm Ready to Explore!

Don't you dare feed her! She know's how to do it with two spoons!

Our new puppy... So cuddly...

And she loves to wear everybody's footwear...

My Fifi has grown so fast! It seems like it was just yesterday when I gave birth to her and now, she's walking and learning to be independent. She also has some crazy antics that she mastered and watching her explore our house is fascinating!

The pictures above are proof that my baby is already copying everything she sees so we all have to be careful with what we do or else we would teach her some bad habits just by our actions.

Treme – Finding the Heart of a Great City

Guested by Frank Utello

I missed the premiere of David Simon’s new show, “Treme,” but HBO and the Directtv Promotions out now have me covered so I could personally rebroadcast it at my leisure. Simon and co-creator, Eric Overmeyer, are taking viewers into a world within our national world. If anyone can do it, they and their supremely talented writers, crew and cast can do it.

I, along with many, think Simon’s “The Wire” is the greatest television series ever produced, so for him to take on such an ambitious project so soon after ending his masterpiece, is beyond impressive. The opening scenes of “Treme” microscopically show the tiny movements that make up a New Orleans day, three months after Katrina has hit. Musicians prepare instruments, fingering cigarettes and late-morning beers, warming up for the first neighborhood parade after the hurricane has devastated the lower 9th ward.

Scenes unfold in segments of meandering time. And what a golden cast: Wendell Pierce, an actor who never seems to be acting, Clarke Peters ("The Wire"), Kim Dickens (“Deadwood’), Melissa Leo (“Homicide”), and surprise—John Goodman—playing a profane booster who explicitly explains to reporters that Katrina was a natural disaster; the flood was a man-made. The agony of New Orleans is worded by Goodman’s decrying of government negligence, but it is also portrayed in the opening credits, which follow the water-lines and rot of destroyed homes.

Several dramas play out. Native-born citizens are returning to start over again. Those who stayed are eking out a living. Nobody has enough money. Bargains are made; exchanges are played out. The stress of running a restaurant is explored. A misanthropic radio DJ (Steve Zahn) is our portal into the mechanics of the local music scene.

Treme is a neighborhood thought to be the birthplace of jazz and half the cast seems to be jazz musicians. When Antoine Batiste (Pierce) joins a second-string parade, already in motion, with a trumpet solo, it’s as stirring as any musical moment I’ve ever seen. My optimistic hope is that the soul of New Orleans, with Simon as conduit, will find a way to express itself to television audiences.

Manny Pacquiao Fight

I am a big fan of Manny Pacquiao, not just because he's a Filipino like me but because he is a very religious athlete. He has brought so much pride to the Philippines and he is the prime example of from rags to riches. He grew up poor and through browsing, he was able to rise up and became on of the richest athletes.

As a fan, ofcourse I would like to watch his fight one of these days. Maybe his contemplated fight with Floyd Mayweather, if that ever happens. So I browsed through ticket selling sites to see how much it would cost to buy a ticket at the MGM Arena. I know that it won't be the same price with different events going on, but at least I would know where to look when I need to buy one.

I saw this site that also sells Beacon Theater Tickets, NASSAU COLISEUM TICKETS and RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL TICKETS. There are other venues that they sell tickets too and I know that this is the site that I would need when I need to buy tickets for the next Manny Pacquiao fight.

I hope that the most awaited fight would happen and I am hoping some more that Manny would come out victorious. Whatever will happen though, I would continue to be Manny's fan, win or lose.

Mother's Day Trip

We celebrated Mother's Day at Pensacola, FL. camping at the Big Lagoon State Park. It was our first family camping trip and we all had a blast! Even my little toddler was enjoying herself especially when we headed to the beach to go swimming. My 8-year-old especially loved it because she gets to sleep in her own tent and was able to make s'mores in our bonfire.

On our way home though, we passed by a ford explorer that broke down in the side of the road. My husband, as kind-hearted as he is, stopped to see if they need any help. He knows a little bit about cars and so he went and checked-out what was wrong with their ford explorer. He checked it and saw that they had a broken head gasket. The lady who owns the car was very grateful for my husband's time, but she also knew that there was nothing my husband could do much. So after the roadside assistance people came to help her, we left.

We are very willing to help people that have car problems like that because we have been there before. On our way to Los Angeles, our car broke down and nobody was willing to stop and help us out. Good thing we have internet access in our phones and we searched for Los Angeles auto repair near where we broke down. They were nice enough to send for us and fixed our car. And I swear from that time on that we need to help people that breaks down in the highway because it's not easy being in that situation.

Getting a New Fridge

I am a summer girl and there's something about summer that excites me! It's probably the fun cotton dresses that I could wear, or the warm summer breeze while we hang out on the beach, or probably just the tan we get in the summer sun. The yummy ice cream that cools off our body and the deliciously cold lemonade completes my ideal day during summer.

Speaking of cold beverages, hubby and I have been thinking of getting a new refrigerator. The one we're using right now has served its time and although it still works, it really don't go well with our newly renovated kitchen. I looked for affordable and ofcourse good quality fridge freezers online and I found the site that sells them for cheap. I will have to show them to my hubby and see what he thinks.

When it comes to appliances, I really don't make so much of the decision except for the aesthetic part because my husband knows more about quality and power consumption more than I do. Anyhow, I am so excited to be hanging-out in the beach with my family this summer and I am also excited to get a new top of the line fridge to make sure we have an abundant cold lemonade all summer long...

Summer is Here!

Summer is fast approaching! I am ready to go out in the beach and enjoy the waves! Hopefully the beaches would all be fine here by us, considering there's a major oil spill in the gulf coast. But no matter what, I won't let anything dampen my summer spirit...

The best thing about summer for me is the fun we get to do with the family. My family personally loves to go to beaches and hang-out there. The summer outfits ofcourse is very fun! I can't wait to wear my off-shoulder beach desses, my gladiator sandals, my Sunglasses and ofcourse my swimsuits! Infact, my hubby and I are getting ready by going to the gym regularly.

The only thing I don't love too much about summer time is the humidity... Here where I live, it gets really humid, to the extent that we would sweat, sticky, yucky sweat even under the shade. I know it's part of summer, I just hope there would be more less humid days than vey humid days. How about you guys? Are you ready for the summer invasion?

Hawaiian Vacation

It's been my long time dream to be able to go to Hawaii and spend a relaxing vacation there. I hope someday we would be blessed enough to be able to afford to go there. Eversince I was young, I have been dreaming of visiting the beautiful beaches in Hawaii as well as the famous volcano that constantly spits lava all the way to the ocean.

My husband is a surfing enthusiast, so he also dreams of having the ultimate aloha vacations and ofcourse ride the beautiful waves the island could offer to surfers like him. I came from a tropical country and I know what it feels like to be summer all year long. But for some reason, I believe Hawaii has a certain magic in it. A sense of paradise that other tropical places don't carry. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of my country, the Philippines and I would not trade it for anything, but I can't seem to get Hawaii out of my destination lists. Infact, it is at the top of my list.

Someday, I know this dream would come into fruition. Just like a famous cartoon character said, believe it!

How I Met my Husband

I am happily married to a very kind, funny, and responsible gentleman. He is the man that most girls would love to have as a husband and I could not believe that I am living my dream with him. He treats me like a princess and he is an awesome father to our kids, apart from being a very good provider to our family. I have nothing but praises for him and I sure hope I will keep on making him happy.

I met my husband through a Dating Service online. I was there looking for a guy that would jive with my personality. He was there because his brother urged him to. He doesn't believe in dating sites, saying that all the girls that was in there are either fat or old. trying to get somebody. LOL... When he met me though, he changed his mind and he did more than get to know me, he married me.

After seeing his smile for the first time, we were both smitten with each other and he came meet me after two months. We got to know each other better, and we found out that we complimend each other's personality. Now after a couple of years together, we still have that spark in our eyes everytime we wake up in the morning right next to each other. If you haven't tried online dating yet, try it and you never know, you might meet your future spouse and your soulmate, if you believe in one.

Alert! Computer Crashing...

I hate it! My computer crashed again and I lost most of my pictures and documents. I have been victim of these viruses ever since we downloaded that crazy video online. Good thing my husband knows how to fix our system. He complained ofcourse, and he said that we need server data recovery so if our system crashes again, we would be able to recover better.

He also installed a better virus protection program that would help protect us from those crazy viruses. I hate it when crashes like this happens. Hopefully it won't happen again and if it ever does, atleast we will be able to recover the datas.

My Hubby's Passion

Aside from water surfing, one of my hubby's passion is computer gaming. He could talk about computers for hours if you would indulge him. Infact, he already built two computers and one of them is his personal gaming computer which he is so proud of. I am not a computer geek so I have no idea what makes that desktop so special. When he was building it, he made sure there are axial fans on it to keep the system cool while he's shooting monsters or enemy soldiers in whatever game it is he's playing.

And just like any other computer geek, he is already talking about upgrading some of the parts of his mega-awesome gaming computer. As long as he makes sure that we don't starve while he's indulging his passions, I don't really care. Atleast he I see him while he's playing and he's not out of the house. I would choose this passion over gambling in a minute.

My Mom is at Studying

When you ask my daughter now what her mom is doing, she would probably answer you, "My mom is studying for her test. And it's true, because recently, I decided to pursue a degree online. With a toddler, an 8-year-old, and ofcourse a husbnad who needs my attention, it's not easy. Just running a house by itself is hard enough so deciding to go back to school is extra hard. But I know that when I get my diploma someday, it would benifit my family in the long run.

As a stay-at-home mom, everybody thinks I have all the time in the world, but on the contrary, I don't. Just taking care of my kids and husband is time-consuming just by itself. But with this economy, it is always better to have whatever it takes to survive. And getting a degree is one of them.

If you are thinking of going back to college like me, there is a site that offers Scholarships for Moms. It's a site that gives away 10 grand worth of college scholarship and all kinds of informations that would help moms like me. It is never too late to get our degree and the sooner we work on it, the faster we would achieve that goal.

What Matters Most

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes. Suddenly, I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce... I raised the topic calmly.
She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why? I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew. I didn't love her anymore, I just pitied her. With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and tore it to pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back but I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea od divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep pretty fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew. When I woke up, she was still there at the table, writing. I just did not care so I turned over and went to sleep again
In the morning, she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month, we both struggle to live as normal as a life possible. Her reasons were simple: our son has his exams in the month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her in our bridal room on our wedding day. She requested that everyday, for the month's duration, I carry her out of the bedroom to the front door every morning... I thought she was going crazy! Just to make our last days together bearable, I accepted her odd request.

I told Dew about my wife's divorce conditions... She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom, to the sitting room, then to the door. I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; Don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young anymore. There were fine wrinkles on her face, he hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me. On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Dew about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses had grown bigger! I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason I could carry her more easily. Suddenly it hit me... She had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously, I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in that moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to my son to come in closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I'm afraid I might change my mind this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly, it was just like our wedding day...

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day when I held her in my arms, I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and I said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy...

I drove to office... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind... I walked upstairs... Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Dew, I said I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives., not because we didn't love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home, on my wedding day, I am supposed to hold her until death do us part.

Dew seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away. At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and said, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us part.

That evening I arirved home, flowers in my hand, a smile on my face, I ran upstairs only to find my wife in the bed - dead...

The small details are what really matters in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, the property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy.

A Weekend in Miami

I had not seen her for almost twenty years. She was fourteen and I was sixteen. Now we had reconnected as adults and agreed to meet in Miami and spend a few days together. I followed the recommended Home Safety Tips, keyed in the code and set my security systems and headed for the airport.

She met me at the airport and I was pleasantly surprised. She really had blossomed since we were teens. As we drove to her hotel, we talked about our friends and families and what everyone was doing. She explained that her husband had died a few years ago and she was in Miami for the Caribbean festival. She was also considering moving to Miami because New York held too many sad memories.

We had lunch at a Cuban restaurant on South Beach. The food was excellent and we were in a great mood. After lunch, we walked along the beach watching the surfers. We walked in the surf, looked into the sky and laughed for no particular reason. Later we swam in the warm turquoise water and walked hand in hand until the sun set on a perfect Miami evening.

The next morning we headed for Key West. We drove with the windows down and let the breeze flow over us. We stopped at a seafood restaurant on a shady key and ate looking out over the ocean. It was mid afternoon when we got to Key West and the bars were jumping. We sipped on a couple of exotic drinks and danced and laughed into the night.

The next day we headed to the Caribbean festival. Hundreds of colorful masqueraders filled the streets gyrating to the music of the steel band. We ran into a number of people we knew and they gave us some costumes to wear. The festival ended at sundown and we made our way back to the hotel. When she took me to the airport the next day we promised to keep in touch. As the plane took off, I lay back in my seat, closed my eyes and smiled all the way back to Atlanta.

Donating Your Old Car to Vietnam Veterans

We have an old toyota corolla that still runs really good. We thought of selling it but my mother in law told us that we could just donate it and get tax credit for the donation. We looked online on ways how to donate car and we found a site that really helps out vietnam vets. My husband is an ex-marines so he knows exactly what it's like to be sent to other places for deployment. The site accepts car donations no matter how old your car is. It also guides you on how to donate your old vehicles to the heroes of the country.

If you are interested in vehicle donation, try to visit the site and check it out yourself. It would be for a good cause since you know that you are helping the unsung heroes of the country. Vietnam veterans deserves a lot of respect and honor from us and one way of showing them we are grateful is through donating whatever we have extra to them

Making a Small Business Website

My SIL owns a small business and so we talked about getting more clients through advertising online and having her own website. She asked me if I knew how to make one, and so I told her honestly that I don't. I am just a mere blogger who knows how to blog and do little online stuff but not an expert.

So we looked online and researched about how to make our own sites. We ofcourse need to have dedicated server hosting to host our site. There are also other sites that needs managed hosting solutions and colocation services to make their websites run as smoothly as possible. As we browse along, we figured out that there are alot of things we need to accomplish to have a well-working site.

Until now, we're still researching about ways in starting her own site. It's always better to do the research first before jumping into something. With this economy, careful planning is needed to avoid poor financial decisions.
