Looking for a New Car

My friend has been shopping for a new car and she's asking my husband's advice what's the best car to get. She knew that my husband knows a lot about cars and he could check out the car first before she decides to pay for it. We have been all over the place looking for a car and my husband keeps some mental notes of the positive and negative stuff about the cars.

We saw a ford transit connect and hubby said that ford is not really his favorite brand. So we moved on and sa a hyundai veracruz. He liked the computers and gizmos on it and he also said tha hyundai is starting to make a name in the market. The only down-side of all the elctronics is that when it breaks, you have to bring it back to the manufacturer and let them fix it. There's the saab 9-5 and it's pretty good but the mileage on it was a lot. Hubby recommended in the end the kia soul because it is a gas saver and it has low mileage on it. It is also affordable and very clean.

Hubby's Obsession

I know most men are into cars but my husband is extra crazy about it. If he has a choice, he would buy his dream sports car but ofcourse we have to be realistic and think about other expences before getting a new car. He likes to watch Nascar and other car shows on TV.

Everytime he passes by a good car, he would admire it like he's admiring a hot woman and I would just look at him and shake my head, atleast it's not women he's admiring. He talks a lot about cars and he would mention cars like maserati quattroporte, a car I found so hard to spell... He would also talk about the simple ones to spell like gmc acadia and infiniti g37. I know cars names has nothing to do with how good they are in the road but I find it amazing how these companies name their cars. Names like scion xd and ferrari are just a few of my favorite car names.

Shopping Online

Since I lost a lot of weight, most of my clothes don't fit me anymore. They are too loose and even my belt is too big, it don't help in keeping my loose pants up. So I saved up all enough money to shop for new outfits. I need atleast 2 pairs of pants, a couple of shirts, a few dresses and a blazer to add some spice to the look.

I like shopping online because it saves me first and foremost from gas. I shop what I want without leaving home and if I order enough items, it get's shipped to my house for free. It is also easy to compare to prices from different stores without having to drive from one store to another. It's very economical to shop online in my opinion.

My Dream Car

We all dream of owning our own car. Even my 7-year-old daughter can't wait to drive her own car. She wants to have her own limo for some reason and I would just say, okey sweetie, because I know that when she gets a little older, she will realize that a limo is not really a very good car to drive around with.

I always wanted to have a hummer h2. My mother-in-law drives one and I saw firsthand how awesome this car is. The only problem is that it's a gas gussler. My second choice would be the ford fusion. It's an american car and I think it looks fancy. The nissan xterra on the other hand is a good choice when you're a mom like me and has to drive the kids to and from school, so I am inclined to it because it is a gas saver. Another car I would like to own someday is the hyundai sonata because it's slick and it has all kinds of gizmos on it.

Driving While Intoxicated

I have posted in my other blog about a particular person that has been very mean to me. She is my husband's sister-in-law and she has always have bad blood against me for no apparent reason. I have avoided her for the longest time and it saved me a lot of pain and tears. I knew that she is an alcoholic so I just told myself that it's the alcohol talking and not her. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago, the city of New Orleans had a big parade to celebrate the victory of the New Orleans Saints on the Superbowl. We watched th parade at home but we didn't go there because it was cold and we have kids. My hubby's sister-in-law went and when she drove home, she got stopped by a state trooper and got arrested for DWI.

I hope that this would be a lesson for her and would convince her to go to alcohol rehab centers. There are drug addicts who went to drug rehab centers that sobered-up and she might get the help she needs there. The drug rehabilitation programs are designed to help them out and make sure that they get treated with their addiction. She could get all kinds of skills and informations from these centers to help her deal with her addiction to alcohol.

With this economy, we need to make sure that we are saving money in every way possible. Whether it be by cutting on some guilty pleasures or by trying to buy discounted items. When the economy started to plummet, our family started to cut back on a lot of stuff. We used to go to the theaters and watch a movie every weekend but now, we just wait for it to come on DVD and rent it. We save a lot of money and we still get to watch the movie. We also cut back on eating out. We used to eat out a lot, but now, we only do that if we're on the road and we really need a bite and ofcourse on special occasions.

We also save money on groceries by using discount coupons for particular items we need. It might have been annoying for the cashier to scan all the couplons we have but it saved us money. I used to not do all of these but we have to adapt to change and we have to be able to survive in this tough economy. I would do anything to help out with my family's finances.

Taking Care of my Grandma

My grandma passed away two years ago but until now, I still miss her terribly. She will always be remembered because she has taken very good care of me when I was young. She has been a very good grandma to all of us and a very good mother to my dad.

In the last years of her though, she has not been as vibrant as she used to be because she suffered from diabetes. She was bed-ridden for months and needed extra care and attention. It breaks my heart knowing that she is in that condition but there is nothing I could do to help out. I am miles away from her and all I could do is send monetary help to help pay for her care-giver.

That experience made me think about getting a cleaning franchise that would help out elderlies like my grandma. They could come to an elder's house and help clean them up and their house. Having free samples or just bringing coupons when I buy groceries helps us in a little way. But if I add all these savings in year, I was shocked at how much I saved all in all.

Fifi's First Birthday!!!

We celebrated Fifi's first birthday last February 14! All the planning and hard-work culminated in that day and I am very happy with the outcome. I would like to thank everybody who helped me pray for a good weather because our prayers have been answered... It was a perfect 64 degrees with no wind!

Moths In The Closet

My husband and I share a closet and we hope that someday we would get a bigger house to fit a his and hers closet. It is getting crowded in our closet so I re-organized it. I had the surprise of my life when I saw that some of his clothes has holes on it! I was really mortified and I thought there's a rat hiding in our closet. I yelled for my husband and he came checked out the closet, he said it's not a rat, it is the moths that are destroying his clothes. I hurriedly sent him to the store to buy some moth balls. I hope that's enough to kill those little creatures that have been creating destruction in our closet.

My mother in-law came and checked it out as well. I called her and asked for her advice. She knows everything, from removing hard stains to kill bed bugs. She is my go to person and I am so glad when she agreed that it's just moths making holes on my hubby's shirts. I am kind of relieved that it was not a rat.

Gold Jewelry

I had my first gold jewelry when my husband gave me my engagement ring. It's true, we were so poor to afford any real jewelry back then and I think it's just a waste of money to buy gold jewelry when I could spend that same amount on food and bills.

Eversince then, my husband has showered me with plenty of gold jewelries. I am a yellow gold type of person because hubby said yellow looks better with my skin tone that white. After plenty of years of being to him, I got a couple of gold jewelries in my possession. On our anniversary last year, he bought me a beautiful diamond-lined hoop earrings. It was beautiful but I was so upset when I lost one of the pair. What would I do with the one earring left?

I was watching tv and I saw a commercial from Goldline International. They buy gold at the most price possible. So I sent my earring and after a couple of days I got a check in the mail. It was fast and safe. I am not looking forward to losing anymore jewelry but now I know what to do if incase the same thing happens again. I hope not though.

My Hubby is a Gamer

My wonderful husband is a certified geek and a gamer. He loves to play online games and he owns all kinds of video game consoles in the house. He claims it's all Andrea's consoles but he always plays with it, so might as well call it his too.

Recently, he bought the new xbox 360 and the xbox live card 3 month subscription. I thought to myself, why don't it work without anysubscriptions? Well, I am not fond of playing so I have no idea how it works. I just let him do his thing as long as it's not jeopardizing our budget. he also said he needs the xbox live 3 month membership, which ofcourse is not free... I don't know, what else he needs to be able to play his game.

I was not surprised when he mentioned that he might get the xbox live gold 3 month because according to him, it's the best. Oh well, as long as he's happy and as long as we could afford it, I just nodded and go ahead.

My little girl has just turned one and I bought a beautiful personalized tutu for her to wear on her birthday. Everybody loved it and they are all asking where I got it from. I chose a hot pink tutu for Fifi because she looks good in hot pinks and reds but there's yellow tutu available too as well as pink and brown tutu. She was the star that day and she loved all the gasps when she came out wearing her tutu.

Sports Fan

My husband is an avid football fan and win his favorite team, the New Orleans Saints won the superbowl, he was ecstatic. It was the first time that the Saints won the superbowl so it was really a big deal for him that his team won. It is like making history happen and he is so glad that we became part of that history. I am not as crazy as he is, but his loyalty to the Saints is so contagious that I can't help but get nervous everytime they play as well. In short, he converted me to being a Saints fan...

The football season is over with but there are lots of memories we created when we watched our team beat different football teams every week. The game was so good that there are times when each football game has turned into a betting game. There are people who would bet that we would not win and there are others who would bet that we will. And as the weeks pass, the betting continued. There are plenty who do sports betting online and they claimed that they won lots of money.

In the end, our team won the Superbowl and we couldn't have been more proud. The Who Dat nation is celebrating and I think the celebration will continue until the next football season.

I am very fond of trying out new stuff especially when it comes to cosmetics and lotions. Most of the products I tried have delievered somewhat, but not really all the way like they make it look on TV. I know that it's just their ploy to get consumers to buy it but still I am hoping that there is a miracle product out there that would make my skin smoother and my hair shinier.

There are different products I saw online that I would like to try. They say Molton Brown going to make your skin supple and smooth. It sounds like the usual ads I see on TV but I'll try it anyway. I would also love to see if Kai Body going to make my skin glow. Well if it's not glow in the dark, I would probably give it a try. For my hair, I found out that Liquid Keratin going to make it stronger and healthier. I have been looking all over for products like that because I suffer from falling-hair syndrome. And if this hair product works, I would definitely try Keratin Complex going to straight my hair.

There are a lot of beauty products out there and I believe that all it takes is trial and error to have a product that would fit our needs.
