After being flooded last year, we decided to replace all the sheetroickan in our house to make sure that all the water damage is taken-cared of. Our insurance company paid us just to do half of the sheetrock so we have to find ways to get enough money to do it all the way. The removal was easy, it was fun to rip out all the sheetrock. As we are on the process of ripping it off the woods, we had the surprise of our lives when we saw that part of the wood by our front window has some obvious termite damage.
My husband was devastated because he knows that it's additional costs and additional money to come up with. He checked if he could salvage some of the wood and was glad to know that only two pieces are damaged enough to be replaced. He looked online for the best ways to fumigate for western drywood termites and he said we should do it to protect our entire house from further termite damage in the future.
Since it's the entire house that we have to fumigate, we have to stay at a hotel for two days to make sure that we won't inhale the fumes. We were so glad we did it because now that our house has walls on it again, we have a sense of peace that there's no damage or termites slowly doing any kind of damage to it.
