Remembering My Childhood

I came from a country that has a lot of natural beauty. It has the perfect weather all year through and very beautiful spots that I am so proud of. I grew up a few miles away from the beach and I was able to enjoy taking baths in the river as well as climbing tress. My childhood was simple but a fun one and it was filled with memories worth remembering. I never realized how good my childhood was until I had kids of my own. The area where we are living now, is beautiful but it is nothing compared to the place where I grew up. My kids are able to enjoy the beach like I did but not as much as I did because the beach is not as near as the beach back at my hometown. My kids didn't get to experience how it is to take a dip in the river because the rivers here are freezing cold and most of all, my kids didn't get the liberty of climbing trees because the trees here are so much taller and so difficult to climb.

I remember back home when I used to play with our neighbor's kids every weekend. We would play patintero and hide and seek. We would take baths in the rain, running around the neigborhood in our shorts and t-shirts. Every christmas, we would go around and sing christmas carols every night and would have our home-made instruments ready. I would tell these stories to my kids and they would get amazed because they know they are missing on something.

Someday, we would go back home and I would let my kids experience all the fun that I did growing-up. I would bring them to the beach and I would let them swim in our rivers and climb trees and if possible, do christmas caroling... Someday, they would be able to feel the joy I felt when I was a kid and they would have fun memories to remember as well.

Duyan

Fifi is growing fast. She is so big and heavy now that a couple of minutes of holding her is like carrying a ton of bricks. And she has a certain kind of personality that would drive you crazy if she is sleepy. She hates having to go to sleep that when she feels sleepy, she would cry and cry until she dozes off. Plus, she is not a heavy sleeper. Any little noise would wake her up, and then she would throw tantrums like it's nobodys business...
So being a second-time mom, I kinda know what I should do. I remember back home that most babies are in their hammock or duyan as we would call it back home and they always sleep good and they always sleep longer than usual, so I made my own version of duyan here in our house.
My husband was open to the idea and he gladly helped me set up our duyan. We were like kids playing house when we did it and he is so protective of fifi that he made sure everything is in standard when it comes to safety.
At first, fifi is hesitant to get inside the home-made hammock but after she got the feel of it she is loving it. Now, my little baby girl s napping in her duyan and true snough, she sleeps better and thus, I breath better too.

Working Out!

We all want to be fit and healthy but being healthy does not come on it's own, we have to work for it, that's why they invented the word... WORKING-OUT! We are born vain, and eveytime we look at oursleves in the mirror, we see our bodily flaws and we secretly wish that when we wake up the next morning, we would have the body of one of those victoria secret models we see all the time in the magazines.

I am no different from the rest of the women, I am so conscious about my bodily image as well. So a few weeks ago, I made a promise to myself that I would work out and make myself look better, thus making me feel better too. It's not easy though, it requires a lot of commitment to work-out every single day. There are even days that I would just wanna stay in bed and sleep, but thank God, my hucband motivates me to get up and get going and thrue enough, I feel so good afterwards.

One thing about working-out, we don't see results the very next day. It takes time before you notice that you have flatter abs and slimmer thighs, so it's depressing sometimes. But in time, all of the hard work would pay off and someday I would look if not like the victoria secret models, perhaps better than I do now. Ohhh... I have to go and work out now so I would get nearer to my goal of being a my husbands own Heidi Klum... Lol...

A Message to my Grandma

This is a message to my one and only grandma. The person that I admire the most. The one woman that has a pure heart and a very generous soul. Wherever you are, I hope you would somehow know what I feel.
I used to hate you back then. I used to hate having to do all the chores you asked me to do. I used to mumble everytime you would ask me questions about why I didn't come home on time from school. I hated it when you would tell me to attend mass every Sunday, and I would really roll my eyes when you would announce that it's time to pray the rosary every night. All of that was torture for me, I always thought you are so strict and that someday when I grow-up I would go as far away from you as I could so I won't have to follow your rules and I won't have to stop watching tv just to pray the rosary.
Eversince my mom died, you have taken us underneath your wings and raised us as your own children. I spent more time with you than I did my real mom who lost her battle from cancer when I was just 7 years old. You are always the person who's always willing to help, eversince I could remember.
I grew up with a fear in God. I grew up to be a well-adjusted individual. I grew up to be a good mom and a good wife. I grew up as a good person and ready to face all challenges life throws at me.. And it is all thanks to you.
Thank you for making me attend mass and do the rosaries every night, I learned how to love God. Thank you for making me wash the dishes, clean the house and cook our dinner, I learned how to be a good mom and a good wife. Thank you for always getting angry when I don't come home on time, I was saved from friends who are bad-influence. And most of all, thank you for loving us unconditionally, I have learned to give love in the most unselfish way.
It's so sad that I could no longer hug you. That I could no longer kiss you. That I could no longer say thank you for raising me to be the person that I am now.
I know that by now, you are with God and I know that you are watching over us, making sure that we raise our kids the way you have raised us... I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MY MAMALING! When God welcomed my mom into heaven, He knew that we would be well-taken cared of because He gave you to us to be our grandma!

My Little Lady Model

My husband just bought me an SLR camera for my birthday and so I tried to practice using it with who else as my model, but my little angel.. Fifi...
I have been dreaming to have a professional camera since I love to take my kids to Sear's Photo Studio, or JC Penny to have their pictures taken, and with this hard economic times, it is not very practical to waste money, coz you know studio pictures are pricey nowadays.
Here is a practice pictorial from my Heidi Klum and Allessandra Ambrosio look-alike model, my little girl, Fifi... And true enough, she gave me poses that Tyra Banks would die for.. LOL
The downside of the SLR pictures though is that I have to adjust it's size since It takes forever to upload in this site. But other than that, I am so happy with my new camera. I would be taking photography classes soon, and so I can't wait to use my camera in its full capability..
